What has Hip-Hop Become?

Most hip-hop today seem to be focused around these few points.
  • Money
  • Sex
  • Women
  • Drugs
  • and More Money
Still young at the age of twenty-five.  I can easily find rather extreme differences between hip-hop of the 80's, and hip-hop of the 90's through to this very day.

Most hip-hop of the 80's seemed to focus more on these few points
  • Community
  • Unity
  • Friendship
  • Respect
  • and Politics
Not to say early hip-hop was perfect, but still.  Its next to impossible to find somewhat positive hip-hop today.  The passion and love for money has almost completely taken over this art form and is quickly destroying it.

"When creativity bows to the promise of financial gain it is from then on imprisoned"

  1. Great post, I totally agree. I can't even stand to listen to the hiphop radio station, most of that shit is just garbage. No substance, no creativity and no individuality. My money won't go to the crap, but I do support the few good artists that are still making good music.
